As mentioned before on a previous post, Israel-based Indie band Lola Marsh have visited cologne on their Shot Shot Cerry album tour. Let's get back to the atmosphere from last Wednesday´s concert.

I came almost in time at club Luxor, when around 8:20 p.m. the first tunes of Hold On started a very emotional evening. After a short announcement, Stranger and Only for a moment (Netflix, Purple Hearts) continued the mood from the band's classical repertoire. If you aren´t yet in the atmosphere, the fourth song on the set list Wishing Girl (Netflix, Faraway) definitely got you by the audience vibes for tonight. It was an incredibly familiar mood, even though I was til some weeks ago complete new to Lola Marsh's music.

It was so far an emotional temper, continued by She's a Rainbow, Bluebird and What I am. Morning Bells, a much lighter song followed and Shot Shot Cherry introduced the pieces from the latest album. Cologne was also the last but one city on the live schedule, as the band had on 30th March the last tour day in turkey. Followed by Run Run Baby, Shot Shot Cherry and Run Run Baby were definitely my favorite rocking live songs on this evening. You're Mine let the audience got into a great interact with the band by creating clapping beats in the beginning of this song. Going back and Echoes ended up this concert and left the stage. But the crowd called for an encore. Suddenly Lola Marsh came back on stage with 3 Encore songs, including Never grow Up/ Because of you, a Miley Cyrus cover and Hometown.

I will for sure remember this evening for a Genre I never have visited before! The live performance on vocals, guitar and sounds were awesome as well the great audience! Thank you for letting Discomfort Wings be part of it! For more information and tour dates this summer in Europe, please check out the band's Social Media.

Back story

Lola Marsh, aka vocalist Yael Shoshana Cohen and multi-instrumentalist Gil Landau, create music that combine clever lyrics with deep warm harmonies. At the beginning of 2016, the young duo self-released “You're Mine”, an impressive debut EP that cemented Lola Marsh as collaborators of magnetic, thoughtful indie-pop. Their distinctive sound resulted in a quick rise, first online and then in person, with performances bringing the 5-piece band to Europe and North America. They followed with their debut record, “Remember Roses”, in the summer of 2017 - an effervescent collection of songs that boast a stunning juxtaposition of wistfulness and melancholy, set against an eccentrically offbeat pop backdrop. The record was received with critical acclaim, and the singles climbed to the top of Spotify’s most viral charts, hitting over 40 million streams that are growing by the day. The band gained attention from NPR, Paste Magazine, NYLON, Observer, Interview Magazine and more.
