Future Radio returns with new sounds
12 September 2025, South Africa, South Africa – Future Radio is back, louder, sharper, and more defiant than ever. Their latest single, The Dance, is a full-throttle return to the band’s rebellious rock roots, fusing alternative and space rock with a message that demands attention. It’s Future Radio at their most unapologetic: raw, charged, and ready to challenge the system.
Back story
Future Radio has carved out a unique space in the South African music scene with their genre-bending sound that spans from hard-hitting rock to danceable pop-rock. With storytelling at its core, they’ve collaborated with a diverse range of artists to create music that’s both thought-provoking and accessible.
Known for their relentless work ethic, bold and consistent social media presence, high-energy live shows, and unwavering commitment to speaking truth through music, the band continues to gain momentum locally and internationally.
The Dance [Single Release]
Driven by a Goldfrapp-style schaffel beat, gritty guitars, pulsating synths, and a hypnotic bassline, The Dance is a sonic gut punch, infectious on the surface, unsettling underneath. Lyrically, it rips into the illusion of control, calling out the politicians, billionaires, and tech giants who pull the strings while the rest of us are told to keep dancing, keep scrolling, keep quiet.

“It sums up how a lot of people feel,” says Future Radio frontman and songwriter Johnny Late. “We’re constantly told everything is fine, but behind the curtain, our freedoms are eroding. We’re being distracted by noise while the power structures tighten their grip. The Dance is a refusal to stay silent, a wakeup call!”
As with most Future Radio releases, The Dance will be accompanied by a high-impact music video, a lyric video, a live version, and a stripped-down acoustic take, capturing the song’s intensity across multiple formats. The campaign will be powered by Muhn Creative, who will handle PR and drive an extensive social media rollout.
