Local sounds from Düsseldorf, Germany!
Lets start the new year with some new music and take a focus to The Lovekiller!
Back story
The Lovekiller is a musical project by Alex and Valerie, founded in 2025. It fuses the heavy sound of composer and producer Alex with the intimate, emotional lyricism and unique vocal timbre of Valerie - the voice, breath, and pulse of the project.
The duo released their debut single “Dead Butterfly” after more than five years of shared musical exploration. In 2025 alone, The Lovekiller have released five singles, each revealing a new layer of their emotional cycle - from pain to purification.
They describe their style as romantic metal and introvert rock - music where aggression meets vulnerability, and strength becomes confession. Now, The Lovekiller are working on their debut album - an emotional chronicle where every song is an act of resurrection.
The Lovekiller is more than a project - it is a form of cleansing through sound, a space where suffering turns into beauty.
Ressurection
Alongside the single, the band presents their first cinematic music video - a visual odyssey through the labyrinths of the human soul. Each frame reflects an emotional journey from pain and emptiness to empowerment and self-acceptance.
“For us, ‘Resurrection’ is about how pain and passion can destroy you, yet also give you the strength to be reborn. It’s a song about finding a spark of yourself even in your darkest moments - where every ending can become a new beginning,” say band members Valerie and Alex.

The track explores themes of depression and toxic love - the kind you can’t let go of. Lyricist and vocalist Valerie draws from her own experience with mental struggles, giving the song an authenticity and raw emotional depth that resonates deeply.
‘Resurrection’ marks the next step toward The Lovekiller’s upcoming debut album, set to arrive soon. The accompanying video promises to be an emotional explosion for fans of dark alternative rock - a powerful blend of beauty, despair, and catharsis.
