Taiwanese band TRASH reveals latest album

and celebrates 15 years anniversary

If you're familiar with this blog, you already have seen band TRASH here! In the last over 4 years, I was able to almost feature every release of them! Today, let's take a look at the member's newest kind of work, with their 5th album!

Disclaimer - Anime

Are you familiar with the Dragon Ball series? I hope so, when you find this post here! Please listen to the album's 2nd song, "21世紀最強兒歌" closely! Dedicated to Akira Toriyamas death this year, founder of the world-famous Dragon Ball series, this song has original sound parts of the Japanese Anime song "Sorae"!

Back story

Since 2009, TRASH are based in Taipei under Marz23 Lin Zhi-Rong (Vocal/ Guitar), Euan Lin (Lead Guitar), vul Kuei Gun (Drums) and Teng Wen Po (Bass). With their mixture sound of different Rock and Grunge vibes, related to melodic guitar riffs and visuals, they stand for a new generation of their country's music scene. As an active artist for over 10 years, they released an amount of MV's, joined festivals, including tours in Asia. In 2021 the band released the 4th studio album, which was also nominated as best album of the year at the Golden Melody Awards.

The Last Train of Happiness (幸福的末班車)

TRASH's 4th studio album comes with 12 songs. After the "Departure" train station intro, the listeners enter "The Last Train of Happiness".

The Greatest Children's Song of the 21st Century - 21世紀最強兒歌

In memory of Akira Toriyama:

"We all were once children, and we all deserve it, to be protected with all our strength until the end of the world. The most challenging creation in the 15 years since its establishment! The fusion of Anime Rock, adding elements of classic children's songs and 8-bits game consoles - playing the world's classic children's song "Little Star", and echoing "Stars in the Night" to illuminate and protect each other through this song.

It also pays tribute to many classic anime characters, moves and video game elements that we grew up with, and uses music to bridge the gap of the times. There is no word "love" mentioned in the whole song, but you can fully feel the most passionate and tender "love". "

After this powerful 2nd song, the track list continues with "Die with you" and "Goodbye". TRASH about the meaning of "Goodbye":

Growth is always accompanied by pain. This song is about, how we all need to make peace with ourselves sometimes, find the courage to say goodbye to the past, and keep moving forward. Share it with someone who needs to hear this.

The album self-titled song "The Last Train of Happiness (幸福的末班車 )" stands for the life itself and the ways each person choose. "Luck means, to find friends on your path and create memories together. Thats the highest type of luck."

The song "Start from Zero 2024 (歸零)" brings you directly in another time zone! This song is a new version from their same titled 2nd album, back in 2014!

Almost arrived "the last station"

The 8th song of the album's playlist "Coward" stands for..."the road of life, in order to prove, that we always stumble. Put up a thorn, to make sure, you don't get hurt. Instead, it hurts the people you care about. But actually sometimes... admitting cowardice is the answer "

Believer 2024 feat. Yssue (相信) comes here as a new classic pop version and transports the listener again into another time. The original version is from the album 11:11 from 2017! The last 2 songs are "The Reason of everything" feat. Cheer Chen and "Arrived" - you arrived your personal destination through the emotional story telling.

Concept and album review

The group reflects and presents more emotional sides on this album. With songs like "Start from Zero" and "Believer" it's also a short view to the past, combined with old tracks in a new point of musical view. The Last Train of Happiness stands for every person, who goes their path in life. On this way, it's difficult these days to keep friends along your way. The highest kind of happiness are the memories you can spend with people around you. Sometimes, we have to distant ourselves from toxic persons (song: Coward).

This album gives people strength and energy, to believe in your dreams!
